Smaller, brighter, less famous Ischia neighbour. Italian Capital of Culture 2022; painted houses tumbling down to Marina Corricella; 4 km long, walkable end-to-end in 90 minutes. No hotels above three stars and no day-tripper economy.
When to go
From the 2026 climate study, not the live forecast.Smallest of the three Bay of Naples islands and the calmest. May, June, late September, and October are the empty windows. August is crowded by Italian families but never as much as Capri or Ischia. Ferry from Naples 1h; from Pozzuoli 40 min. Sea peaks at 26°C in mid-August.
